We work directly with our partner cellars to select wines that deliver genuine quality at prices that make everyday drinking a pleasure. The identity of the producer stays under wraps, but the quality speaks for itself.

Vintage & Terroir

A classic Cape Blend from the heart of Stellenbosch — Cabernet Sauvignon meets Pinotage, South Africa’s own signature grape. The vineyards sit in one of the most established red wine regions in the country, where warm days and gentle slopes produce grapes with deep colour, ripe tannins and concentrated fruit. The 2024 vintage was generous, delivering wines with real depth and approachability.

In the Cellar

The grapes were destalked, crushed and fermented on their skins in open-top fermenters with regular hand punchdowns to extract colour, flavour and gentle tannin. After fermentation, the wine was pressed and the free-run and press juices blended. Maturation took place in French oak barrels to build complexity and round out the tannins. The Cabernet brings structure and elegance, while the Pinotage contributes fruit sweetness and a generous mouthfeel — a partnership that defines the Cape Blend style.

Tasting Notes

A full-bodied, spicy red with plenty of ripe dark fruit — think blackberry, plum and a touch of mulberry. There’s warmth and complexity on the nose, with hints of dried herbs and gentle spice from the oak. The palate is generous and mouth-filling, with pleasantly dry tannins and a fruity finish of good length. Already delicious, but will reward another 3–5 years in the cellar if you can resist.

Food Pairing

Built for the braai — this wine loves flame-grilled steak, lamb chops, boerewors and sosaties. Equally at home with slow-cooked oxtail, bobotie, or a rich mushroom and beef pie. For something lighter, try it with mature Cheddar or a charcuterie board. Serve at 16–18°C.
